He grew up and saw the weekly meetings between his father, an Ifa Priest and Oluwo of Ifisin Ekiti, and his friends discussing and analyzing different verses from the Ifa corpus. He also followed his mother to weekly church programs. The dramatic nature of the discussions of Ifa verses and the weekly church activities encouraged him to take up acting in primary school. He later attended Ife City College, where he met a teacher who not only encouraged his acting career but collaborated with him to establish the Ife City Dramatic Society. With the support of the school principal, the theatre group participated in many competitions and won many trophies. He met the late Professor Ola Rotimi in one of those theatre festivals in Oranmiyan Local Government. He emerged the best actor in that competition. Another meeting with Professor Ola Rotimi resulted in a job offer with the University of Ife Theatre Troupe. He worked at the university of Ife Dramatic Arts Department for many years and acquired a bachelor’s degree in Dramatic Arts. Peter Fatomilola also worked with Professor Wole Soyinka, before he retired from the University of Ife. He is currently the head of Ifa Priests in his home town, Ifisin Ekiti. He was the first Papa Ajasco, the popular Nigerian comedy film produced by Wale Adenuga. He also featured prominently in Tunde Kelani’s film, Saworoide, among other Nollywood films.
