He featured prominently in different stages of the development of theatre and film in Nigeria. As a member of the Oyin Adejobi Theatre Group, he was part of the Yoruba Traveling Theatre. He moved to the Ori Olokun Theatre, which later became the University of Ife Theatre, and performed on stage in Nigeria and the United States of America. He featured in many films at every stage of the development of Nollywood industry, and later became a university lecturer. He is Kola Oyewo, a professional actor, who played lead roles in many plays and films. He started his professional acting career in 1964, when he joined the “Oyin Adejobi Theatre Group.” After spending nine years with this group, he joined the Ori Olokun Theatre, which later metamorphosed into the University of Ife Theatre, in Ile Ife. He later earned a doctorate degree and taught at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Redeemer University, Ede, and retired at Elizade University, Ilara Mokin, as an Associate Professor of Theatre.
