Dr. Kolawole Olaiya, an Associate Professor of English, teaches in the Department of English, Anderson University, South Carolina. He earned his B.A (Hons), in Dramatic Arts at the University of Ife, (now Obafemi Awolowo University), M.A. English, (African Literature), from the University of Maiduguri, and Ph.D. Drama from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada.

Dr. Olaiya was a producer in NTA, Maiduguri, before proceeding to NTA Television College, Jos, where he taught Television Production and Directing, Film and Television Scriptwriting, and Studio Production Techniques for almost a decade. Dr. Olaiya has taught Film and Television Scriptwriting courses at the Television College, Jos, Nigeria and the United States and has published book chapters and journal articles in Nigeria, Canada, and the United States. He is a 2023-2024 US Fulbright Scholar.
