Tosin Adeyemi is a thespian whose journey into performance began not with scripts, but with movement. Long before Nollywood called her name, she was a happy child who loved dancing at parties and in school, carrying joy in her body as naturally as breath. With the encouragement of her sister, Fate nudged her toward the University of Lagos, where Theatre Arts offered theory, acting skills and structure, even if it could not fully teach the alchemy of becoming. What school lacked in film training, the stage compensated for in discipline, rigor, and the quiet ethics of craft. From initial rehearsals that paid almost nothing to the thrill of a second-chance audition that opened her first major musical role, Tosin shaped herself through persistence, instinct, and love that resulted in stellar performances like Teni in the TV Series, Refuge (2023), Lisa in Tokunbo (2024), Zeinab in Bashorun Gaha (2024) and Aunty Seyi in My Father’s Shadow, (2025), among others. An amorist of memory and motion, today, she stands as an actress who moves with courage, trusting that when she leaps, the work will rise to meet her. In this short but illuminating conversation, Kolawole Olaiya of Nollywood in Review sat with Tosin Adeyemi at a location in Ibadan, Oyo State, sometime in July 2025, to briefly discuss her journey and adventures in Nollywood.
